How our IB Students Match Up with their Global Peers

IB Students are supposed to embody and grow in these “Leaner Profile” traits

Every year in December, the International Baccalaureate Organization releases its Statistical Bulletin – a report of the IB Diploma Program’s size, growth, and academic performance. We used this to compare the exam score distributions of Douglas County IB students with global distributions. In Literature, Chemistry, and Foreign Languages, the results are comparable, at least in terms of passing rates (a score 4 or higher out of 7). The 100% passing rate in Literature stands out as a remarkable achievement.

Yet in History, Economics, Math, and Biology, the passing rate is much lower. Also, very few students, comparatively, attained 6s and 7s on exams (the highest scores). See the detailed comparisons at: https://advocatingexcellence.org/2016-ib-exam-distributions/
